Hi, I'm Cara McHugh.  I’m passionate about journalism in all its forms and have gained experience with RTÉ News and Current Affairs, Newstalk, Spin 1038/Spin South West, and The University Observer. My work spans from television, radio, and digital platforms, with a strong focus on making news accessible and trustworthy in an era of misinformation.

I am skilled in a range of newsroom, audio, and digital tools, including Burli, iNews and AVID. I’m especially enthusiastic about digital journalism and social media storytelling, as I believe well-crafted news content online is one of the most effective ways to engage younger audiences and ensure the spread of accurate information.

I am also keen to endeavour on new projects that expand my journalistic skills, such as getting into the world of podcasting and reaching younger audiences through these modern platforms.
